Ford KF Laser

I bought my Laser from a local Car yard, it was a great car. but I wanted more from it, so I bought a front end of a Mazda import , that had a Turbo motor and fitted it. Laser KF

My Turbo Beast

The KF Laser I own was a 1.8 ltr which had a Mazda BP (1.8L F/I 16V SOHC) motor , as standard it had 76Kw, and was the ā€˜S’ model.
I then updated to the Mazda (and it has Mazda on the Tappet cover)
Mazda BPT (1.8L F/I 16V DOHC Turbo) as standard it has 117Kw and is used on the TX3 and 4WD models.
Iam was only getting 108 kW , but the problem was due to a poor clutch.
It slips at high revs and I was looking at upgrading to a Button Clutch.
But then Sold it. Sadly the new owner crashed it a few weeks later, he was ok, but the car was a write off.

This is was the original 1.8 Lt SOHC BP motor from my Laser KF.
It was a Fuel injected 16 Valve and when put on the Dyno it was putting out 76 HP, that's the  standard Ford Motor.

It fits !

This is the New Motor!, Its a 1.8 BP Turbo motor with Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) it came complete with the Front half of the Jap import Mazda 323, 4WD
I decided to keep the motor Stock, so no extra Intercooler, bigger Turbo, or replacement computer, just a 3 inch exhaust.

On the Dyno it had 145.1 Horsepower

This Standard BP Turbo Motor puts out 145.1 Horsepower to the Front Wheels, I had the old motor Dyno tested and Terry did 2 others, before and after the carbon tune..
The only problem I had was keeping the front wheels on the ground and not spinning..So some new wider Tyres (195x60x14) fixed that and now the Police keep giving me Tickets!
they say Iam going too fast.. Opps, another one, 117 in a 100 Zone, and he made a comment, that thing flys!!
Still costed me $150..
I will just have to try and keep that foot off the pedal.
